On January 29, 2026, Mamaroneck police shut down three massage parlors after the arrest of five masseuses, three of whom were charged with prostitution. 

A complaint led police investigators to three different locations: 437 Ward Avenue near the train station, a second floor suite at 416 Mamaroneck Avenue, and a store front at 172 East Boston Post Road in Rye Neck.

At Cozy Spa, at 437 Ward Ave., police said massages were provided without correct licensing and intimacy was also offered to an undercover investigator for a fee. 

At 416 Mamaroneck Ave., a woman was arrested after offering to sleep with an investigator for money.

At Harbor Beauty Spa, at 172 East Boston Post Road, two more women were arrested.

One woman was charged with promoting prostitution.  Unlike a regular prostitution charge, which refers to the prostitution of oneself, a charge of “promoting prostitution” means an individual  encouraged, facilitated, or profited from the prostitution of another person. All five women were charged with felony unauthorized practice of a profession. Those accused include Ruili Shang, 40, of Fresh Meadows; Yu Jiang, 30, of Brooklyn; Kanahara Yoshiko, 51, of Queens; Yu-Hua Lin, 53, of Queens; and Zhenhua Cui, 42, of Queens.

The women were all given desk appearance tickets and will appear in village court on Feb. 12. A desk appearance ticket is a written notice issued by New York police that orders an arrested individual to appear in criminal court at a future date for arraignment, rather than being held in custody.
